Experiencing other simulations at Space Camp
The multi-axis trainer is used to familiarize astronauts with the feeling of disorientation when entering Earth's atmosphere in a tumble spin. I usually get sick on rides that spin, but because my center of gravity never changed, I was fine.
The 1/6th microgravity chair.
It is called the 1/6 chair because it simulates the moons gravitational pull-which is 1/6 that of Earth's.
Here I am on the chair after being
encouraged by my team to do the
side step!
Team simulations of water rescue using the Zip-line and helicopter crash. We each zip-lined across the water hole while being cheered on by many space educators. During the helicopter simulation, team members were immersed in water; swam to an open area where a head count was taken, and then helped each other out of the net that lifted each person to safety.
